bible prophecy fiction
Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins’ book Are We Living in the End Times? directly confronts current world events and comments on biblical prophecies made thousands of years ago that clearly mirror many of the events of our time. Written in layman’s terms, with a flowing style and chronology, this is a book interested readers can burn through in a couple of hours. Breaking down the events of The Great Tribulation, the book reads like the non-fiction version of the authors’ popular fiction series, Left Behind.
The book is divided into three parts: context, events, and personalities. The opening chapters explore the context of current events in relation to biblical prophecy, while providing a background on the unfailing accuracy of the Old and New Testament prophets and their predictions. The second part of the book catalogues the many events of the Tribulation, starting with the coalition of invading forces that set themselves against Israel (Gog and his hordes) as well as the Rapture, while ending with the last rebellion against God and the subsequent Glorious Appearing of Christ. The third and final part of the book analyzes the personalities of the age – Satan, the Antichrist, the False Prophet, the Two Witnesses, and the Tribulation Saints and Martyrs.
Every student of end-times bible prophecy, whether a novice or the most seasoned of scholars, will find some merit in reading this book. Exciting and informative, it will open your eyes to the realities confronting our generation and present new and innovative ways of viewing God and the world in which we live. If seeing Israel in the news night after night has peaked your interest, read this book and learn more about why such events are not mere coincidence, but rather part of a divine plan that been unfolding for thousands of years.

Proof of Ezekiels ETs Extreme UFOs of the Bible (Ezekiel’s UFOs & Aliens ) $1.00 In 1961, way before anyone dared to seriously connect the Biblical writings of the prophet Ezekiel to visitors from the gods or extraterrestrials, Arthur W. Orton did. Orton presented a compelling case that Ezekiel did indeed experience many extreme encounters of the third kind that he chronicled in the Bible using his limited vocabulary to describe technical and fantastical machines and gods. Space Aliens — Not God — Destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah! (ETs Destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah ) $1.00 Perhaps one of the greatest mysteries and moral tales of the Bible is the swift and total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, when an angry God supposedly rained fire and brimstone on a sinful and degenerate people and wiped them off the face of the earth. Hubbard, L. Ron

The exceptionally talented Rock artist Freddie Hubbard has released him CD entitled Red Clay. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Freddie Hubbard fans, and Rock fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Red Clay Freddie Hubbard’s artistic excellence is on full display as Hubbard has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.
It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it’s own.
One of the nicer things about a CD like this is when the talent is this rich even if Rock isn’t your favorite genre you still can’t help but appreciate the greatness of the artist.
I give Red Clay my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.
While this entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 3 – Suite Sioux, track 5 – Cold Turkey, and track 6 – Red Clay – Live
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Red Clay. This is a great track!

prophecy fiction
Where does reality stop and fiction begin? The physical and the metaphysical are interwoven in the fabric of mankind. Often yesterday’s fiction is today’s reality. Nature is replete with hidden mysteries we cannot explain. In James Redfield’s the fiction novel The Celestine Prophecy he presents the theory of coincidence in a magical way as he takes us on a journey of insight to the spirit. While I read this book it did not seem like fiction and the story seemed like a real possibility.
Redfield’s work is an example of Eastern philosophy brought to the surface. During his college years he studied Taoism and Zen and sociology at Auburn University. After receiving a master’s degree in counseling he worked with abused adolescents for 15 years. He was drawn into the human potential movement and turned to it for theories about how to use psychic phenomena that could help his clients.
In 1989 Redfield quit his job and began writing full time about:
• Interactive psychology
• Eastern and Western philosophies
• Science
• Futurism
• Ecology
• History
• Mysticism
Redfield combined his knowledge of the above into The Celestine Prophecy. With little interest from book publishers in 1992 he self published. Book sellers and readers made The Celestine Prophecy a red hot commodity. It was then picked up by Warner Books in 1994 and went to number one on best seller lists. The Celestine Prophecy was the number one seller in 1996 and sold more than 20 million copies worldwide with translations to 34 languages. In 1996 Redfield wrote a sequel, The Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision that also was a best seller adding to Redfield’s fame.
In 1997 Redfield produced a non-fiction title, The Celestine Vision: Living the New Spiritual Awareness, which explores the emerging spirituality discussed in his novels He continued and in 1999
with a series of adventure parables:
• The Secret of Shambhala (1999)
• In search of the 11th Insight (1999)
Then came the movies:
• God and the Evolving Universe, non-fiction film with Michael Murphy (2002)
• The Celestine Prophecy Movie (2006)
Finally, James and Salle Redfield are founders of the Global Prayer Project, a webcast that offers guided prayer and meditation. The Celestine Prophecy is a wonderful read and I appreciate the journey into the world of possibilities from the metaphysical.

Greeley, Andrew

Why are there no “rags to riches” stories in Canadian History.?
Is it that there is no entrepreneurial spirit? Is it the restrictive immigration system? Why are there no Canadian:
Alexander Hamilton’s
Andrew Carnegie’s
Horace Greeley’s
Andrew Grove
Hell even Barack Obama?
Tommy Chong??? That’s the best you can do. Come on. 1st his beginnings weren’t really “rags”, his father was a truck driver. Second his “riches” weren’t made in Canada, they were made in the US.
I guess Canadians are touchy people or have a lack of reading comprehension.
Lets look at Randy’s list:
Scott Abbott – a sports journalist before Trivial Pursuit (not exactly a rags story)
Bombardier was born to a family of prosperous shopkeepers (not exactly rags)
The Bronfman’s Ha HA (they were wealthy tobacco farmers before entering Canada)
I could go on but I won’t have space. Rags to Riches means starting out of nonexistent means and making it rich. Randy, you should follow your own advice.
Well, Canada had deep British/French cultural ties. Change really didn’t occur until after WWII. British/French ties ensured that Canadian society was a class based society (hence the lingering issues of Quebec sovereignty even today). It was rare to “break out of” your class. After WWII Canadian immigration does not allow “rags to riches” stories. You have to have money, education, etc to immigrate.
Culturally, there is no country on the planet with a meritocracy like the US.
An interview with Andrew Greeley about his book, Jesus
