Is Science Fiction theater television show on DVD?
I know it is an old show made in the 1950’s but there are many old 50’s shows on DVD
I have no idea the internet movie data base does not have it listed as being on DVD http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047767/
I sure would like it to be some day as I loved that program. It came on late at night and I would get in trouble because I wanted to stay up and watch it.

With thousands of books written every year on all sorts of topics from business to fiction to religious, it is impossible to read every book released. Thankfully, The New York Times gives us some help by releasing and constantly updating the best-seller list for all of the topics you can imagine. Here are the current best sellers for four different categories.
Hardcover Fiction
The number 3 best seller for hardcover fiction books is Daddy’s Girl by Lisa Scottoline. This is a fast-paced thriller that keeps the reader’s attention and will keep you reading non-stop. The number 2 non-fiction book is Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella. This book takes the main character, Becky, amidst a possible love triangle with her husband and his ex-girlfriend as she shops for the perfect world for her baby. Finally, the number 1 best seller is Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. This is another contemporary thriller by Picoult about a high school shooting.
Hardcover Non-Fiction
The number 3 non-fiction best seller on the New York Times list is ‘I Feel Bad About My Neck’ by Nora Ephron. This comedy book discusses the topic of aging, in particular women aging. The number 2 book is ‘A Long Way Gone’ by Ishmael Beah, which takes into account the life of a young boy at the age of 12 who is swept into the horrifying world of civil war. The best seller currently for non-fiction books is ‘In An Instant’ by Lee and Bob Woodruff. This tells the tale of the traumatic experience Bob Woodruff experienced in Iraq and how he and Lee Woodruff worked through the difficult times after.
Children
Number 3 on the list for children’s books is Flotsam by David Wiesner. It all begins as a boy finds a camera that is washed ashore, and from there it is an adventure full of pictures. The number 2 best seller is Today I Will Fly! by Mo Willems, which tells the story of a piggie who is optimistic about flying and an elephant that is skeptical. With a little help from others, amazing things happen. Lastly, the number one book is Someday by Alison McGhee, which tells an enchanting story of a mother’s dream coming true, watching her child live life to the fullest.
Religion
The number 3 religious book is The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This book guides you to learn to understand and speak the unique language of love through a couple’s guidance. The second book on the best seller list is by Richard Dawkins entitled The God Delusion. Richard Dawkins attacks arguments for the existence of God in this controversial book. The number one religious book on the market is Grace by Anne Lamott, which takes Lamott’s life into the realm of reality as problems of faith pop up in the most unexpected places.
There are hundreds of brilliantly written books on the market, even within the four categories listed above. But starting with the best sellers from the New York Times is a good place to begin. Enjoy!

fiction film
Science fiction films have mesmerized the audience the world over with their surreal adventures and special effects. These kinds of movies attract young people the most. But films like Star Wars and Superman have a universal appeal. Science fiction films take their audience to a dream world where everything is out of this world and larger than life.
When we look at the best five science fiction films, we should start with the series of films called Star Wars directed by none other than George Lucas. No science fiction list is complete without a Star Wars film. Their impact on the history of cinema is incalculable. Star Wars features some of the most iconic characters of world cinema. All the Star Wars movies became hugely successful and were liked by millions all around the world. The fighting techniques are unique and stylish.
The second film is Blade Runner, which was made in the year 1982. The director of this film is Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford portrays the main character. The story revolves around Harrison Ford who plays a policeman, Rick Deckard, and his hunt for four cloned humanoids, known as Replicants, in a dystopian version of Los Angeles. Replicants have been deemed illegal and Deckard is a blade runner, a specialist in exterminating them. It also discusses consciousness with an attempt to formulate a way to tell a human from a machine. The Voight-Kampff empathy test is used by the police in the film to identify the replicants – who have memories implanted and are programmed with artificial emotions.
The third film is also directed by Ridley Scott. It is named Alien and it came out in 1979. The film is about a stellar mining vehicle Nostromo, heading back to Earth. It intercepts a signal from a nearby planet; the crew is under obligation to investigate. The most important scene from this film almost became iconic with an infant creature bursting bloodily through John Hurt’s chest. The interstellar mining vessel takes onboard a life form with concentrated acid for blood and two sets of jaws, which then messily dispatches the crew. The film was praised for the gothic set design and Sigourney Weaver’s portrayal of reluctant hero Ellen Ripley.
The fourth film is 2001 A Space Oddesy directed by Stanely Kubrick. This film was made in the year 1968. The film is one of the finest works of Staley Kubrick. This film achieved enormous fame for its then revolutionary special effects. Even before the invention of super computers and stunning special effects, this film shows the brilliance of the simulations, which cannot be done better despite all the modern computer graphics.
The fifth film is called Solaris and it was directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. This film was made in the year 1972. This fantastic science fiction movie was remade in the year 2002 but the original holds a fascination for fans of the novel by Stanislaw Lem. This film is about a psychologist who travels to a base on a remote planet to replace a mysteriously deceased scientist. There he encounters the secretive survivors and his dead wife. Reality is supplanted by the increasingly attractive alternative of the alien intelligence of that planet.

than fiction will
I am often asked how the ghostwriting process actually works. What comes first? How does the book progress? Do you have a specific schedule? Although I am only one ghostwriter, I would imagine that all of them work differently. However, for all of you out there who are considering hiring a ghostwriter, this is essentially how the process works.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #1: Consultation
Your ghostwriter should ask to speak with you on the phone to have an initial consultation. During this 15-20 minute conversation, he or she will ask you various questions about the manuscript. How long should it be? What is the subject or genre? Will there be any research involved? This consultation is meant to give the ghostwriter a basic understanding of what you are looking for.
Feel free to ask as many questions as youÂ’d like during the consultation, but answer the ghostwriterÂ’s questions as well. This should give you both a general idea of how well you will work with each other in the future.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #1: Agreement
Once you and your ghostwriter have talked about the proposed project, it is time to make the agreement. Most ghostwriters, myself included, have a standard contract that we use for each and every project. The only specifications are the price and the deadline, which you and your ghostwriter will have to negotiate.
A word to the wise, however: most ghostwriters will not do much in the way of negotiation. The price is set by the ghostwriterÂ’s experience and skills, and if you canÂ’t afford to pay the asking price, youÂ’re better off finding another writer. And as far as deadlines go, your ghostwriter will finish your manuscript as quickly as he or she possibly can. It is rare that we can pinpoint an exact date of completion.
Once you have solidified the terms, you should both sign the contract and keep a copy for your records.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #3: Research
Once the ghostwriting process has officially started, it will be time to compile all of the necessary research. This must either be provided by you (the client) or performed by the ghostwriter. You will typically pay a lower price if you are able to provide the bulk of the research to your ghostwriter.
Obviously, non-fiction ghostwriting will require substantially more research than fiction ghostwriting, though novels often require a fair bit of planning. If no research is required at all, skip ahead to the next step.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #4: Outline/Planning
Some ghostwriters (and writers in general) outline, while others donÂ’t. I personally abhor the entire outlining process, and I never do it. If my clients offer me an outline from which to work, I wonÂ’t say no to it, but IÂ’ve never been inclined to plan out my books in that fashion.
That said, however, planning in general is an integral part of the ghostwriting process. For example, if your ghostwriter is penning a fiction novel, he or she will want to know if you have any specifications with regard to:
- Plot Sequence
- Characters (i.e. names, physical descriptions, etc.)
- Setting (i.e. city or town, winter or summer, etc.)
- Pace
- Length
- Point of View (i.e. first person omniscient, third person, etc.)
- Tense
- Anything Else
Most ghostwriters will allow you to specify as much as you want about the novel. If you know exactly how Chapter One, Chapter Two and all of the rest of the chapters will progress, feel free to give those details to your ghostwriter.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #5: First Draft
Different ghostwriters handle the first draft in different ways. Some will write the entire first draft of the script with absolutely no imput from their clients, then ask the client to review it when they are finished. Others, such as myself, will submit the first draft in small increments so that you can monitor the progress. If you have a preference, be sure to tell your ghostwriter.
Depending upon how your ghostwriter work, the first draft could take three weeks or it could take three months. Some first drafts might take up to a year with certain ghostwriters. I typically finish the first draft of a fiction manuscript within two months, then spend the subsequent month with revisions.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #6: Revisions
If your ghostwriter is worth his or her salt, free revisions will be included in the price of the manuscript. However, donÂ’t expect to be afforded unlimited revisions. The standard is 3-5 revisions per chapter, as long as the revisions donÂ’t significantly alter the course of the plot. For example, if your ghostwriter finishes the entire novel and you decide you want it to be set in New York City rather than San Diego, your ghostwriter is probably going to charge you for those changes.
The Ghostwriting Process Step #7: Final Draft
Once you have requested all of the revisions and made your peace with the manuscript, your ghostwriter will conduct a final read-through and make any grammatical or syntactical revisions. You will then be provided with the final draft (usually electronically, unless specified otherwise) and you can enjoy your manuscript!
